The band has been recording the album, which was produced by Lance Davis, co-produced by bassist Jim Gilheany, since Feb., 2011 at Racetrack Sound Studios in Phila., and Gettysburg, Pa. The release date for Brooke Shive & the 45's debut album "Way Past Gone" is December 16th! The album will be available for purchase and / or download at www.brookeshive.com/music, and also on multiple online stores like CD Baby, Allmusic, iTunes etc. The album was recorded from Winter to Fall 2011 in Gettysburg, PA and Phila., PA at Racetrack Sound Studios and was produced by Lance Davis. The band's bassist, Jim Gilheany, co-produced the album. Guest players on the album were Philly's own Jay Davidson (piano, organ, tenor sax, harmonica), who has toured and recorded with Stevie Winwood, The Funk Bros., Levon Helm and Daryl Hall, and Andy Goessling (Railroad Earth, Hot Tuna) on acoustic guitar, dobro, mandolin, banjo, & tenor sax
- 11/8/11 Brooke Shive & the 45's Win The 2011 Robert Hazard Award for Best Original Song
The title song of their upcoming debut album , "Way Past Gone", just won The Robert hazard Award for Best Original Song last night at the Montgomery / Bucks Music Awards Show in New Hope, PA!! The band tore it up at the awards show held in New Hope, PA at the Triumph Brewery.
